6 Days Historical Tours of Ethiopia
Day 01: Arrival to Addis Abeba
Up on arrival meet Ethio Target Tours teat at the airport, Then transfer in to your hotel. Then You will visit the National Museum that exhibits numerous antiquates, historical relics, archaeological and pale-ontological objects including the 3.5 million year old skeleton of Lucy; one of the fine Ethiopian Orthodox Churches, St. George Cathedral that contains several interesting modern paintings and mosaics St. George Cathedral; Merkato – biggest open market of its kind in Africa and the commanding panoramic view point Mount Entoto which offers the stupendous view of the city.
Day 02: Fly Addis Abeba – Lalibela
Depart on a morning flight to Lalibela (11:00), the most famous of all of the Ethiopian historical sites. After lunch, start your tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the Northwestern Cluster of churches – Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women). Overnight panoramic View hotel
Day 03: Fly Lalibela – Addis Abeba
In this days visit Lalibela in the morning then flight to addis in the afternoon.
Day 04: Fly Addis Abeba – Axum
Early morning flight to Axum (07:45). Upon arrival to Axum, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Today will be a full day visiting the sites of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was recently erected after being returned from Italy) and the archeological museum, the Queen of Sheba’s Bath (which supplies water to Axum year-round), Ezana’s enscription, King Kaleb’s tomb, King Bazen’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church. Unfortunately, no one (except one specially chosen guardian monk) is allowed to enter the chapel where the Ark is kept.
Day 05: Visit Axum
After breakfast, drive to visit the ruins of Yeha, dating from the 8th to 5th centuries BC, and thought to be the capital of Ethiopian civilization before Axum. Afterwards, visit the Debre Damo monastery, where the men (sorry! No women allowed.) must climb up a 15-m rope to enter. Return to Axum after visit.
Day 06: Axum – Addis Abeba
After breakfast visit a bite Axum then fly back to addis abeba
Day 07: Departure
This day only shopping then transfer out to the airport to departure. End Tours
